The '91 motor i pulled out of the g20 went bad because someone poured stop leak into the coolant system. Bar's leaks power steering stop It ended up plugging the water jacket between cylinders 1 & 2.

Ahha anyways you might want to buy a power steering belt to while your at it just to make sure well goodluck to you man.

The best way to find a leak, be it power steering, oil or watever, get your car steam cleaned, in the engine bay, and underneith, then drive for a little while, then get the car back up, and look around, this isnt as easy as it sounds, but i used to work at a shop with steam rack, and lifts, so it was easy, but its do able with a hose and alota degreaser, and better so you dont blindly replace Well it was working great and everything else about it is still very sound. However about two days ago i noticed the hicas light was on when i started the car but would eventually shut off after driving for a while. Searched for info online about it, and was pointed at the power steering fluid.

Never cleaned up stop leak before so that will be new. Bottle says it might take 2 bottles to stop but i think i am screwed and need to just fix the rack and pinion leak.
I had a split boot (that was like a year old too), and a little leak.
Basically, grit from the road gets in the boot and gunks up the end seal on the rack, causing it to leak. I cleaned up the end of the rack with simple green and shop towels, and bought a $8 bottle of lucas power steering rack leak stop. I used 1/2 a bottle and it stopped the The bollow's boot is there to keep dust, and dirt from getting into the rack seal.
Dirt and dust wear the seal down and causing it to leak. If your boot is cracker or torn and fluid is coming out of it you don't need a boot. You need a steering rack. Parts stores sell bellows boots, i got mine from autozone for like 8 bucks each.
This is going to move the fluid through the system.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the fluid in the resovoir matches the new fluid coming out of the bottle. I used less than 3 quarts of fluid on mine.
