Baldini previously told me that this is a common place for leaks. If leak continues, a second application may be required or mechanical attention is needed I have just done a service and i tightened what allen screws i could get at.

For flanges with permanent oil contact. Can be used for metal, plastic and painted parts. It may not be related, but i had a minor gearbox oil leak that was easily fixed.
After i built a maintenance stand, i found that the gearbox was overfull.
This was the cause of a leak somewhere around the top & back of the gearbox. I suspect out the vent, and/or past the rear seal. By dr gil november 23, 2005 in technical topics. The oil was tracking down the side of the cylinder behind the belt cover and ending up at the crankcases then working its way around to the back of the cylinder crankcase joint.
The rear rocker cover had omitted on factory assembly the small amount of silicon sealer required around the sharp transitions on the rubber gasket. I also wonder about the motor oil in use affecting the longevity. That was at about 100,000 miles/ 161,000 km. However, every other stupid minute leak, weep or seep i had on the bike was resolved to my satisfaction.
Yeah, as mentioned in another post here, the sensor does swell, i don't know if it is from the engine heat, synthetic oil, i don't know.
Other v11's i've seen have the leak, seep, weep, there too. 66 yamaha 305, 74 tx650, 75 rd350, 82 xj650rj, two gpz500s and the topper: A right decent '04 ballabio w/4800 miles. The leak appears to be coming from the area closest to 1st cover bolt down (on rightside) from the very top two cover bolts.
The bolt i'm referring took about an eighth turn to snug up but the leak/seep still exists but perhaps it's residual although i did clean up the area before i put another 50 miles on. Over time, seals can harden, crack, or become dislodged, causing leaks. If an oil seal is the problem, you might notice oil leaking near the front or rear of the engine or around the timing cover.
Another potential cause of oil leaks is bad connections between hoses or fittings that carry oil throughout the engine.

I added lucas oil stop leak about a month ago and what a difference! I have only needed to add a half of a quart oil since adding that. I will continue to use the engine oil stop leak with every oil change from now on!! Stops and seals motor oil leaks:
